When you join the firm as a junior associate you will immediately feel an equal member of the team.
Groups are not too big and gearing is perfect, with easy access to partners. Communication and knowledge flows and the informal mentoring and training you get from senior colleagues will be intrinsic to your development.
At Linklaters everything is dedicated to ensuring that you develop as a fully rounded, experienced global lawyer. First of all, you have the opportunity to spend two “seats” in different practice areas. In this way you will gain a broad spectrum of in depth practical experience before specialising long term in your chosen area of the law.
Secondly, your development will be supported through the daily knowledge sharing with an experienced colleague in your shared office and through the structured global and local training programmes you will have access to. The training programmes offer the opportunity to build networks with colleagues from across the world. Training also embeds the global approach to your work and to clients that is essential for you to thrive and to respond flexibly on behalf of our clients to the changing markets we work in. The local training focuses on building your technical knowledge of the Luxembourg legal environment.
The global focus of your role as a lawyer here will be further reinforced through practice area “retreats”. These gatherings bring all Linklaters lawyers together who have a common area of expertise. They last two to three days and are often held in a resort or city location where we do not have an office. These events are a valuable opportunity to build on your network of contacts, deepen your understanding of the global context and strategy of your particular practice area and also simply to socialise with your colleagues from across the world.
