Telecom Italia will sell its German subsidiary HanseNet to the Spanish company Telefónica. The two telecommunications companies agreed on a term sheet for this sale. It is intended to close the transaction in early 2010.
Under the "Alice" trade mark, HanseNet is one of the major providers of DSL internet connections in Germany with 2.3 million customers.
