The transaction is of key strategic importance to Turk Telekom, who is looking to capitalize on its unique geographic “hub” location by connecting increasing data/broadband traffic within the Central Eastern European region, and from Turkey, the Middle East and Asian markets to Western Europe and the United States. The acquisition provides opportunities for synergies between Invitel International and Türk Telekom, and will further strengthen Türk Telekom's relationship with its international data and broadband customers, for whom dependable end-to-end service is critical.
