Linklaters tops Nordic M&A league table

Linklaters is the leading legal adviser on Nordic M&A by deal value for the first quarter of 2009, according to Mergermarket whose league tables are published today.
Linklaters has advised on five transactions valued at a total US$11,551 million during the period 1 January to 31 March 2009.
- Buyers are being more careful and selective in this volatile market, but even in this market there are deals to be done, such as Vattenfall’s acquisition of Dutch company Nuon which is the largest ever cash offer in Sweden and a deal that we are pleased to have advised on, says Peter Högström, managing partner of Linklaters´ Stockholm office. Another opportunity during the first quarter this year was when Altor and Bure acquired Carnegie. We’re well positioned in the Nordic market to advise our clients on their most complex, cross-border M&A deals, adds Mr Högström.
