Jim Rice, global head of capital markets at Linklaters, commented:

“We are very pleased to have played such a leading role in advising on so many of the key capital markets transactions in 2009.

“The number of tables that we have done well in shows the breadth of our practice, where the strength of our Equity Linked practice, through which we have a more than 50 per cent market share advising issuers by volume, and our positive showing on the recent wave of secondary issues are particular highlights.”

Deals incorporated in these league tables include advising on HSBC’s £12.5bn rights issue, Lloyds Banking Group’s £4bn placing and open offer, the establishment of the new commodities trading platform, Source, and Anglo American’s $1.7bn convertible bond.
