Linklaters appoints Francisco Málaga to head its Spanish litigation practice

14 September 2009

Linklaters has appointed Francisco Málaga as head of the firm’s Spanish litigation practice, in Madrid. Francisco’s appointment will reinforce Linklaters' Spanish litigation and arbitration practice, enabling the firm to take advantage of the rising demand for litigation and insolvency advice in Spain.

Francisco joins Linklaters from Cuatrecasas, where he was a litigation partner. He is also Professor of Procedural Law. Prior to joining Cuatrecasas, he was an Alternate Judge at the Audiencia Provincial (Provincial Appellate Court) of Barcelona.

His appointment follows the recent election of two partners in May 2009 - banking partner Ben Crosse and real estate partner Jesús Varela.

Sebastián Albella, member of the Madrid Management Committee, said:
"We have been looking for someone just like Francisco to lead our Spanish litigation practice in order to consolidate our litigation and arbitration practice in Madrid in the long-term. Our goal has always been to be able to offer to clients the highest quality integrated Spanish practice. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team."
