Linklaters Tops Nordic M&A League Tables in Q3 Results

Linklaters has been named the leading legal M&A advisor by value for Nordic transactions for the three first quarters of 2009. Linklaters is, according to the ranking institutes Mergermarket and Thomson Reuters as well as Bloomberg, the law firm which has been advising on transactions for the highest total value on the Nordic market. Linklaters has, according to Mergermarket, been involved in 12 transactions at the total value of MUSD 11,900 during the period January-September 2009. In addition, Linklaters ranks top for global announced M&A by value in the financial sector as well as European announced M&A totally.
- 2009 has been a both challenging and interesting year so far. Despite the historically low activity on the transaction market, we have though had the privilege to be involved in an important part of the larger and more complex transactions that have happened in the Nordic market. We believe that we have been well positioned as the only leading global law firm with significant presence in the Nordics. Deal volume is still low compared with previous years but there are encouraging signs that activity is picking up, says Fredrik Lindqvist, Head of Linklaters’ Nordic M&A practice.
