Linklaters has been ranked among the top firms for competition law in Poland for the third year running by the Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa.
Linklaters’ Polish competition practice, headed by Ma
łgorzata Szwaj, was recognised for its handling of complex competition law cases before the regulatory authorities in Warsaw and Brussels in the 2010 edition of the legal directory. The team advised on issues such as merger control and anti-competitive behaviour. Recently, lawyers from Linklaters represented Banco Santander before the European Commission in connection with the bank’s formation of a joint venture with AIG Bank Polska. They also defended CIECH S.A. in anti-monopoly proceedings before the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, and were successful in having the company cleared of charges of an alleged abuse of its dominant position.
Linklaters’ Warsaw office’s leading position in competition law and European law has also been recognised for many years by other international law firm directories such as Chambers Europe and PLC Which Lawyer, as well as by the Polish law firm ranking conducted by the daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
