Linklaters’ Polish competition law practice ranked in the top tier by Chambers Europe
08 June 2010
In
the 2010 edition, Chambers Europe has once again ranked Linklaters among the top firms for competition law in Poland, as it has done since 2008 when the Competition/Antitrust: Poland category was established.
Linklaters’ Polish competition practice, headed by Ma
łgorzata Szwaj, was recognised for its track record of advising on the most complex competition and EU law matters, gained through acting for clients on merger control and antitrust issues including representing them before the Polish regulatory authority and the European Commission. Recently, Linklaters competition team defended CIECH S.A. in anti-monopoly proceedings before the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, and was successful in having the company cleared of charges of an alleged abuse of its dominant position. The team also acted for Johnson & Johnson in relation to an investigation by the competition authorities into the distribution of a popular drug.
Linklaters Warsaw office’s leading position in competition and European law has also been recognised for many years by other international law firm directories such as
Legal 500 and PLC Which Lawyer, as well as by the Polish law firm ranking conducted by the daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
In addition to recommending
Małgorzata Szwaj, who has been named a leader in competition law, several Linklaters Warsaw lawyers were ranked among the leading individual attorneys within their respective practice areas, including a Band 1 ranking for Artur Kulawski (Real Estate) and Jarosław Miller (Banking & Finance).
