Linklaters awards the winners of the HEC Paris Business Game

On Thursday 23 September, Linklaters awarded first  prize to the winning team of students from the HEC Paris International Legal and Tax Strategy programme who participated in the Business Game. This year the case study was based on the real life case of France Telecom.

Linklaters in Paris hosted the award ceremony in the presence of the students, lawyers, lecturers and other participants in the Business Game.

The winners, Adrien Altomare, Clément Boucher, Liubov Dandaeva, Marie-Aleth Hendessy and Stanislas Rohmer, were rewarded for their project which dealt with the tax issues in relation to the reorganisation of France Telecom and its acquisitions between 2000 and 2010.

Paris Partner, Vincent Ponsonnaille says: “This Business Game is a great learning experience. It allows students to face real issues, to work as team to find solutions and to develop a professional outlook with the help of coaching from experts. This is a fun experience that will benefit them in the future”.

Linklaters has been a member of the HEC Foundation since 2007. The firm therefore takes part in the definition of strategic choices made by HEC Paris for both teaching and research and participates in the selection of research projects. Linklaters also helps to develop and gives lessons to favour the development of specific legal skills in students of the programme.

As part of the HEC Foundation, some of our lawyers sponsor students from a programme at Henri IV college with allows baccalaureat students from underprivileged colleges to benefit from a year of classes to bring them up to speed in order to enter the preparatory classes for the “grandes écoles”.
