Linklaters makes the first partner lateral hire in Stockholm

29 November 2011

Linklaters today announces the election of Roger Johnson as a partner. He will join Linklaters at the beginning of 2012.

Roger joins Linklaters from Hannes Snellman, one of the leading Nordic law firms, where he has been a partner since September 2009. Roger previously worked at Linklaters’ Stockholm office between 2002 and 2009. He was made partner at Hannes Snellman in 2009 and has since developed a very successful private equity practice.

Roger has extensive experience working for private equity houses and financial institutions, including restructuring and insolvency work. His client base has comprised both equity investors and funds investing in distressed debt.

Jeremy Parr, Linklaters’ global head of corporate, said:

Roger is the first lateral hire ever made to our Nordic practice and a testament to the firm’s long term commitment to the Nordic market. His appointment will help us to realise our ambitions in Sweden through strengthening our corporate and, specifically, our private equity practice.”

Per Nyberg, Linklaters’ managing partner in Stockholm, said:

“We know Roger well from his time with us and are extremely pleased to see him return. Roger is a very focused and hard working lawyer and will play a key role in the fulfilment of Linklaters’ strategy.”
