Linklaters advised Legal & General Assurance Society Limited on a bulk annuity policy under which it assumed the obligation to pay approximately 50% of the annuity benefits of annuitants and other beneficiaries of the Dairy Crest Pension Fund. The bulk annuity policy is unusual in that it insures a portion of the liabilities on the pension fund.
