Welcome to this issue of Banking update. This newsletter is produced by Linklaters’ Banking lawyers worldwide and is intended to keep you up to date with current issues in international banking law and practice.
In this issue, we cover a number of topical subjects ranging from security sharing between lenders and pension schemes to the changing role of the security agent in restructurings, which we hope you will find interesting and informative.
Since the last edition of Banking update in January 2010, the banking practice has received significant independent external recognition:
- We were promoted to Band 1 for Restructuring and Insolvency by Chambers Global – this further strengthens market recognition for our top ranked Banking practice;
- We were named UK Law Firm of the Year 2010 at the Chambers Europe Awards For Excellence 2010;
- We won Private Equity Deal of the Year 2010 for our work advising on the LBO of Anheuser-Busch InBev’s central and eastern European operations by CVC Capital Partners at the Acquisitions Monthly Awards;
- We were awarded Private Equity Deal of the Year 2010 (for the Oaktree/Countrywide restructuring), Restructuring Deal of the Year 2010 (for the landmark debt restructuring for McCarthy & Stone) as well as European Law Firm of the Year 2010 at the IFLR European Awards.
We welcome any suggestions you may have for future issues of Banking update.
