Community Investment, Germany, Horse therapy

In July 2009, we were able to combine two of our community investment projects spending the day with a group of young, single mothers and their children at a horse therapy centre ("RTZ") in Cologne.

The mothers and their children all live in a home (Agnesheim) in Düsseldorf. The home helps young people who, for various reasons, are not receiving assistance from their families before, during or after the birth of their babies.

We have supported RTZ for a number of years, and sponsor three horses: Bilbo, Elvis and Jule. Physiotherapists and trainers coach children and adults, some with physical or mental disabilities, in different equestrian techniques such as basic horseback riding or jumping. The donations that we make as part of our community investment project mean that the RTZ can afford new specially trained horses.
