Community Investment, Asia, Project Hope

Both our Shanghai and Beijing Offices are involved in Project Hope, which is a public welfare undertaking, initiated and organised by the China Youth Development Foundation that enlists extensive support from home and abroad to assist dropout students and those at risk of dropping out to continue schooling in China’s rural, poverty-stricken areas. We have sponsored the construction of two Linklaters Hope schools in China’s rural Anhui and Shanxi regions, which teach over 300 students. Linklaters staff  attended the opening ceremonies, delivered toys and met the children and their families. The schools are called Xinda Hope Schools and we were able to choose the name Xinda, “Xin” meaning prosperous and “da” being one of the characters of Linklaters’ Chinese name.
