Experience

Cezary is a specialist in commercial law, mergers and acquisitions and international arbitration. He focuses on serving multinational companies in connection with their activities and investments in Poland. He has broad experience in international arbitration and is a member of the Arbitration Board of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce.

Recent transactions and matters of significance where his substantial involvement can be disclosed include advising:

  • the Polish State Treasury in arbitration proceedings relating to a BIT arbitration in a dispute with Vivendi and Vivendi Telecom International
  • the Polish State Treasury in arbitration proceedings relating to a BIT arbitration in a dispute with Deutsche Telekom
  • the Polish State Treasury on the settlement of the largest corporate dispute ever in Poland concerning ownership rights in PTC, a leading Polish mobile services provider
  • Telekomunikacja Polska S.A., a leading Polish telecommunications provider, in the international arbitration with DPTG concerning the building of the North-South Line fibre optical telecommunications system in Poland
  • the selling shareholders on the EUR 2.1bn IPO of PZU S.A., the largest insurance company in Poland and the CEE region; it was the largest IPO in Europe since 2007
  • J.P. Morgan on a privatisation process comprising the PLN 347m sale of the remaining shares of Mennica Polska S.A., globally the only listed mint, to institutional investors
  • HSBC Bank Polska on the EUR 300m sale of its consumer loans and credit card receivables in Poland to Alior Bank
  • the Ministry of the Treasury in connection with the agreement between the Ministry of the Treasury and UniCredito Italiano S.p.A. concerning the merger of Pekao and BPH banks
