Experience
Larry was Head of the M&A group of the New York office and co-leader of the firm's global U.S. securities and corporate practice until January 2010; he is currently a senior adviser to the firm and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Vanderbilt University, teaching Inernational Mergers & Acquisitions.
Larry has extensive experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance matters, having represented many of the world's major corporations and global investment banks. Larry has spent a substantial portion of his career based outside of the United States, including in London from 2002-2006, and in Hong Kong from 1999-2002 where he headed up the firm's U.S. practice in Asia.
Selected transactions where substantial involvement can be disclosed have included:
- Acting for The Royal Bank of Scotland Group in its acquisition of ABN AMRO
- Acting for UBS as Financial Advisor in connection with Enel's acquisition of Endesa
- Acting for Citic Securities in connection with its proposed investment in Bear Stearns
- Acting for Morgan Stanley Investment Management in connection with its shareholder activism campaign against The New York Times Company
- Acting for BP in connection with the formation of TNK-BP
- Acting for Merrill Lynch and UBS as underwriters in connection with the initial public offering of Novolipetsk Steel
