Experience

Martijn is notable for his breadth of experience, across leveraged finance, structured finance, property finance, and corporate banking transactions. His main areas of practice include leveraged finance transactions, syndicated lendings and asset finance transactions. He is a regular speaker on topics related to finance and corporate banking. His clients include major Dutch and foreign banks and financial institutions.

Recent highlights include:

  • Acting for Rabobank International as documentation agent and joint Mandated Lead Arranger in connection with the €900m term and revolving credit facilities for Pan Fish ASA to finance the acquisition of Marine Harvest N.V. from Nutreco Holding N.V. and Stolt Seafarm Investments B.V.
  • Advising BNP Paribas, Bank of America, Barclays Capital and HSBC as bookrunners in connection with a US$5bn letter of credit and revolving facility for Aegon N.V.
  • Advising Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners in connection with a €1.85bn senior credit facility and a €850m and US$300m interim facility for Nell AF SARL in connection with its leveraged acquisition of Basell BV and Basell Finance USA Inc.
  • Acting for ABN AMRO Bank N.V., ING Bank N.V. and Friesland Bank N.V. in connection with the refinancing of a €74.8m senior credit facility for JVH Holding B.V.
  • Acting for ING in connection with a €330m senior facilities and €60m mezzanine facility for the leveraged buy-out of Polyconcept Group by Investcorp
  • Advising Getronics in connection with its €300m multicurrency revolving facility and €200m bridge facility provided in connection with the takeover of PinkRoccade
