Experience

Mirthe heads up Linklaters’ emerging markets banking and structured trade finance practice in London and co-heads the firm's Ukraine and Kazakhstan desks.  She has extensive experience of a variety of structured banking transactions and restructurings in emerging markets as well as structured trade and commodity (including borrowing base) financings, acting for banks and borrowers, including sovereigns. 

Transactions she has led include financings in:

  • Kazakhstan, including Kazakhmys (including its US$2.1bn debut pre-export financing and its US$2.7bn financing from China Development Corporation and Samruk-Kazyna) and KazMunaiGas;
  • Ukraine, including Zaporizhstal, Interpipe and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and  sovereign entities such as Naftogas, Ukrtelecom, Ukravtodor and Ukrzaliznytsia;
  • Russia, including Lukoil, Avisma, Mechel, Dixy, PIK, Wimm-Bill-Dann and Petropavlovsk (including its debut syndicated financing);
  • Turkey, including Borusan, Yapi, TAV and Biofarma;
  • Romania, including Alro (Vimetco) and IRS; and
  • Africa, including for borrowers in Angola (Sonangol and the Ministry of Finance of Angola), Nigeria,  Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Zambia, Ethiopia and Cameroon.

She has also acted in financings for trading companies such as Glencore, Trafigura and Stemcor.
