Overview

Mateusz is a Polish qualified lawyer (adwokat) with over 6 years of experience in advising in the real estate sector, particularly in the areas of  development, leasing, asset management, and acquisitions of logistics, office and retail assets.

In addition to legal advisory, Mateusz has a technical and economic background, having graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology as an architect, and the Warsaw School of Economics.

Work highlights

Mateusz was involved in many major real estate transactions such as:

  • 7R: advising on numerous lease agreements for warehouse and production spaces.
  • NEPI Rockcastle: advising on the acquisition of Forum Gdańsk Shopping Centre, for €250m. The seller was Multi Veste 339 B.V., an entity ultimately owned by Blackstone-managed funds.
  • Penta Real Estate: advising on the sale of the D48 office building located in Warsaw from Slovak investment fund IAD Investments.
  • GARBE: advising on the Polish aspects of the acquisition of a logistics portfolio of 22 assets located in Germany and Poland, with total area of about 400,000sqm, for over €650m.
  • Niam: advising on the sale of Axis and Kapelanka 42 A office buildings to CORUM, and sale of Silesia Business Park A and B to ISOC Group.
  • Investika and Bud Holdings: advising on the acquisition of the Szyperska Office Center in Poznań from Wechta Nieruchomości.

Professional experience

Prior to joining Linklaters in 2018, Mateusz worked at Baker McKenzie.

Education and qualifications

Mateusz studied law at the University of Warsaw and also graduated as an architect from Warsaw University of Technology. Furthermore, he completed postgraduate studies at the Warsaw School of Economics, with a focus on the legal and economic aspects of real estate. He is fluent in Polish, English, and German.
