Linklaters awarded for outstanding contributions to women’s economic empowerment
Linklaters was recognized with Sanctuary for Families’ Mary Ann Mailman Award for Outstanding Contributions to Women’s Economic Empowerment for the firm’s demonstrated commitment to the organization’s Economic Empowerment program.
Sanctuary for Families is New York’s leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking and related forms of gender violence. Launched in 2011, Sanctuary’s Economic Empowerment Program is a pioneering living-wage career-readiness and technology training that provides gender violence survivors with the skills, resources, and networks necessary to secure career-track jobs with leading city-wide employers.
Linklaters’ New York office has partnered with Sanctuary for Families for over ten years. The firm’s business professionals volunteer annually for the Economic Empowerment Program, hosting a Career Day, sharing their professional experiences with participants in an effort to empower, inspire, and motivate them as they strive to achieve their professional goals.
Sanctuary for Families’ Director of Corporate and Volunteer Relations, Emily Lo Bue said “our relationship with Linklaters has demonstrated tremendous commitment to the Economic Empowerment Program. The firm’s work organizing and enriching memorable Career Days each fall has set so many of our clients up for success as they ready themselves for entry into the living wage workforce, and, in fact, has become the gold standard for all other Career Days.”
