Overview

Nils is a Managing Associate in our Brussels Corporate and Finance group. He advises (listed and non-listed) corporates, private equity firms and banks on domestic and cross-border deals, corporate restructurings and joint ventures.

Work highlights

Nils’ recent experience includes advising:

  • Euronav on its €1.15bn acquisition of CMB.TECH, a diversified cleantech maritime group, from CMB.
  • Hg on the investment in Clover and Induver, to accelerate their growth as a leading insurance broker in Belgium.
  • AXA on the closing of its sale of Belgian banking operations and acquisition of Crelan Insurance.
  • Ontex on the sale of its emerging markets businesses, notably its production facilities and businesses in Algeria and Pakistan.
  • Agfa-Gevaert on its acquisition of Inca Digtial Printers.
  • Weerts on the set-up of a partnership with Ethias and Primonial, a French real estate manager, as well as several acquisitions of logistics real estate in Western Europe.
  • CBRE in relation to a joint-business with MG Real Estate including subsequent acquisitions.
  • LynxCare in relation to a €20m Series A funding in Belgian digital healthcare.

Professional experience

Nils has been a Managing Associate in the Corporate and Finance Group since 2021.

Prior to joining Linklaters he worked at Loyens & Loeff since 2014. He was seconded to KBC Group in 2018.

Education and qualifications

Nils holds a master’s degree in Law form the University of Leuven, an LL.M from the University of Cambridge, and an advanced master’s degree in Corporate Law form the University of Leuven (Brussels campus).

He works in English, Dutch, and French.
