Community Investment, Asia, Indian school

We are providing financial support  to support the set up and operation of a new school in a village near Delhi.

The administration of the school will be carried out by the India School Fund (“ISF”). ISF believes that a strategically-designed education policy can be a tool for the eradication of poverty.  A key policy feature is to build a sense of social and communal responsibility. The school will also provide a detailed health programme, including free daily lunches and nutrition training, with initiatives to help students start a career after leaving school.

In line with ISF policy, our school will be run with no discrimination on the grounds of, among other things, caste or gender. We are funding the set-up costs of the school (which includes teacher training) and have also given a commitment to fund its operational costs for a period of five years. The school will cater for about 250 students between five and ten years old.
