Active Management

Measuring our environmental performance and managing our impacts is important to us, our clients and our people.

Achieving an environmental performance score of 93% in the 2010 Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index meant we achieved a gold rating, a significant improvement on our 2008 performance.

 Since last year, we have:

  • achieved a 6.5% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions resulting from energy and business travel
  • achieved a 4.7% reduction in overall waste produced
  • maintained our recycling percentage of 55%
  • maintained our previous efforts from significantly reducing our paper consumption.

Our carbon footprint last year was 28,900 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, a 6.5% reduction on the year before. This decrease is due significantly to our investments in technologies which have resulted in the improved energy efficiency of our operations. As the quality and scope of our data on greenhouse gases improves and as we update our data to current emissions factors in accordance with The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, our current reported total annual footprints are likely to change slightly every year.
