Jean-Philippe is senior counsel in Linklaters’ energy sector and head of the U.S. environmental and climate change law practice in New York.
Prior to joining Linklaters, JP was Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Global Commodities business where he sat on the power desk and was instrumental in establishing Goldman’s U.S. carbon trading operations.
JP’s work focuses on carbon finance, renewable energy and commodities. He is a registered lobbyist in California and is ranked by Chambers for his work in the U.S. in the climate change area.
JP’s recent experience includes advising:
- Chevron on environmental commodities and power transactions globally and on carbon policy issues in California
- Goldman Sachs on U.S. and cross-border commodities transactions
- a global firm on a structured acquisition of a global mining business
- a private equity fund on a contemplated early stage investment in shale oil extraction technology
