Scott has extensive experience in a wide range of corporate finance transactions including corporate/M&A work and is listed in “Chambers Global 2010” and IFLR 1000 (2009) as a “Leading Lawyer” in the corporate/M&A field. Scott has been based in the Dubai office since its inception in 2006 and has over ten years experience in the Middle East.
He has advised on M&A and joint venture deals in the UAE and throughout the Middle East in various sectors, including banking/financial services, aviation, retail, energy and telecoms
Recent relevant transactions of significance include advising:
- J.P.Morgan on the rights issue of du.
- Emaar Properties PJSC on its proposed merger with property assets of Dubai Holding (aborted).
- Barwa Real Estate on the acquisition of QREIC (Qatar)
- Dubai International Capital on acquisitions in UAE/Jordan/Europe
- DBSAME on the MBO of Duno & Bradsteet’s Middle East and South Asian subsidiaries
- MTC on its US$3.4bn acquisition of Celtel International.
- Saudi Oger/Oger Telecom on its US$6.55bn acquisition of a majority stake in Turk Telecom (awarded “Emerging Markets Deal of the Year 2005” by “Acquisitions Monthly”).
- Emirates Bank International on its merger with National Bank of Dubai (US$12bn).
- on various M&A deals in U.A.E, Bahrain Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Yemen, India and other parts of Africa.
