Linklaters’ Managing Associate featured in ’35 under 35’ outstanding businesswomen list
Linklaters’ Competition and Antitrust Managing Associate, Verity Egerton-Doyle, was today listed in Management Today’s ‘35 Women Under 35’ list of exceptional young businesswomen - one of only four lawyers in the list.
Each year, Management Today goes on the hunt for the UK's most exceptional young businesswomen across a wide range of industries and positions, whether they work as a charity worker, corporate boss or thriving entrepreneur. The chosen few are then showcased in its 35 Women Under 35 list. Now in its 18th year, this is the UK's longest-running, most prestigious list of young, female talent and has included such alumnae as Stella McCartney, Martha Lane Fox and Karen Blackett.
Verity’s work at Linklaters revolves largely around M&A and she has worked on some of the largest deals in recent years, including Sainsbury’s proposed merger with ASDA, which is expected to be one of the largest and most complex merger reviews ever carried out in the UK. She also advises clients on antitrust investigations, and is currently advising on several ongoing cases in the pharmaceuticals sector that sit at the cutting-edge of antitrust enforcement. In addition, Verity advises on competition compliance and has assisted a broad variety of clients ranging from corporates, banks and financial sponsors, to e-commerce start-ups on compliance issues. During her time at the firm she has already completed secondments at BP, Rio Tinto and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
“I love my work at Linklaters as it sits at the intersection of business, law, economics and sometimes, politics, which I find fascinating. My career so far at the firm has given me the chance to work on some of the largest and most high-profile competition cases of recent years, which has been a fantastic experience. The partners and other associates I work with are among the best in their fields, and I love being part of such a talented and committed team.”
