Overview
Janusz advises international and domestic corporates, investors and developers on major real estate transactions in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The transactions on which he has advised include acquisitions (including portfolio transactions and sale and leasebacks), property development, lease agreements (including for build-to-suit projects), due diligence projects relating to property acquisitions and joint venture structures for real estate investments. He has particular knowledge of the logistics, commercial and office space sectors.
Janusz has been regularly ranked and recommended by the most prominent legal directories such as Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and IFLR1000 for his real estate work. He is a member of the firm’s CEE desk.
Work highlights
Janusz has led on many major real estate deals. Recent highlights include advising:
- NEPI Rockcastle on the EUR 127m acquisition of Atrium Copernicus Shopping Center, located in Toruń, from G City Europe
- 7R on the sale of a logistics portfolio, comprising projects in the pre-development and development phase, to CTP Group
- NREP, a leading Nordic real estate investor, managing assets worth more than EUR 10bn, on its first investment into the Polish private rented sector (PRS). The investment entails more than 1,000 newbuilt units acquired from YIT
- LeadCrest Capital Partners on its first transaction in Poland - the acquisition of a EUR 45m portfolio of two logistics and two light industrial facilities
- CP Developer S.à r.l on the sale of 2,500 apartments for rent to the Swedish investor Heimstaden Bostad, for approximately PLN 1.4bn
- Patron Capital on the acquisition of the five-star Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw from the consortium of Benson Elliot, Walton Street and Schroders Hotels
Education and qualifications
Janusz studied law at the European School of Law and Administration, Warsaw and attended post graduate studies on corporate law at Warsaw University.
He speaks Polish, English and French.
