Covid-19 and a New Employment World in Germany?
The ongoing Covid-19 crisis has created the biggest economic challenge in generations. The economic impact is already being profoundly felt in Germany. People fear for a prosperous future and their jobs. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. The government and the federal states have announced a gradual end to some of the lockdown measures including all shops reopening, the resumption of recreational activity and professional football and even restaurants, hotels theatres, operas, concert halls and cinemas will reopen soon. Masks have become part of day-to-day life. Testing and tracking via an app are likely to follow.
As people, and employees, return to a “new normality”, the purpose of this article is to examine where we are at now, what is to come and the long-term impact on the working environment.
