Michael Widok

Michael advises multinational and German corporations and financial institutions on all aspects of national and international taxation.

He is specialised on the provision of tax advice with respect to restructuring, financing and capital market transactions.

Work highlights 

• Garbe: Advising on setting up its new pan-European logistics fund and the fund’s acquisition of a seed portfolio.
• Several international corporations: Advice in connection with the restructuring of the group.
• Advising on an appeal proceeding before the German Federal Fiscal Court (Bundesfinanzhof).
• Various banks and financial institutions: Advising on administrative claims and internal investigations regarding share transactions over the dividend record date (cum/cum and cum/ex matters).

• Various international corporations: Advice on various aspects of national and international corporate taxation.

Michael studied law at the University of Hamburg with a focus on tax law. He completed his legal training inter alia in Canada and at the tax administration and a tax court.

In 2024, Michael completed the tax advisor exam and has been admitted as a certified tax advisor since.
