Welcome to the 52nd edition of the Pensions Ombudsman Focus for the period to June 2016.
The determinations considered in this edition highlight the importance of providing correct and timely information to members. We consider the situations where there is an express or implied duty on the employer to provide information, where failure to provide factual information is maladministration, despite there not being a strict legal obligation to disclose and, the consequences of failure to rectify errors in a timely manner when mistakes are made.
