Linklaters announces two senior management appointments

Linklaters has appointed Matthew Middleditch as its new global head of corporate and Sarah Wiggins as global head of client sectors. They will both begin four year terms from September.

Matthew is currently the firm’s Hong Kong-based head of corporate in Asia, having been a partner at the firm since 1990. He is recognised as a leading M&A lawyer, having advised both corporates and investment banks on a range of major transactions around the world. He has particular experience in advising banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions. He succeeds Jeremy Parr whose four year term comes to an end and who will now return to full time client work.

Sarah is a senior corporate partner and has been involved in a wide range of corporate transactions including all types of M&A work, IPOs, privatisations, joint ventures and general corporate finance, often with a cross border element. She has particular expertise of the energy sector and completed a secondment to BP's head office last year.  Sarah, who was recently appointed head of the London corporate practice, is promoted to the global role of head of client sectors succeeding Fiona Hobbs, who will also return to full time client work after completing her four year term. 

Until successors are appointed, both Sarah and Matthew will maintain overall responsibility for the London corporate team and the Asia corporate team respectively.
