Linklaters scoops two awards for innovation

Linklaters has been named Most innovative law firm in finance Law and Most innovative law firm in social responsibility at the ninth annual FT Innovative Lawyers European Awards. The results were announced at a ceremony held at London’s Natural History Museum on Wednesday 8 October. 

The firm was also ranked second in the FT 50: Law firm innovators list. This, coupled with its first place ranking in 2013, confirms Linklaters’ place at the forefront of innovation in the legal sector.  

The firm received the Most innovative law firm in finance Law for its work on the Green Deal, Smart Metering and Thames Tideway projects, creating bespoke securitisation structures based on new regulatory frameworks to finance energy and infrastructure projects. The FT judges highlighted the Thames Tideway project for “its complicated and innovative financing structure.” 

The firm won the Most innovative law firm in social responsibility category for the launch of its international governance and development practices.  Judges were impressed by the firm’s commitment to the United Nation’s principles of good governance and how the firm pulls together expertise from across practices to improve governance standards for both clients and for the not-for-profit sector. 

The FT Innovative Lawyers Report is widely regarded as one of the top legal rankings in Europe.  The report is available to download on the FT website.
