The Times and Opportunity Now name Linklaters a Top 50 employer for women in the UK
Linklaters has been named a top employer for women in the UK by The Times and Opportunity Now.
Promoting talented women is one of the firm’s top priorities, and several initiatives are instrumental. For example, the Linklaters’ Women’s Leadership Programme, in association with Cranfield School of Management, provides a structured means of targeting those with the strongest potential as early as possible.
Additionally, Linklaters’ work with girls’ schools local to the firm’s London office, (‘Learn for Work’), which includes a literature programme and debating challenge, encourages girls’ working aspirations.
Robert Elliott, Linklaters Chairman and Senior partner, said:
“Being named one of The Times and Opportunity Nows’ Top 50 employers for women is a great acknowledgement of the work we’re doing to develop our diverse workforce. Linklaters is a meritocracy and we strive to create an environment which is inclusive and in which people can give their best. This is central to our strategy and culture. But, despite our having more women at partnership level than our counterparts, we’re well aware that there is more to be done. It is in this spirit that we celebrate this accolade.”
Kathryn Nawrockyi, Director of Opportunity Now, added:
“Congratulations to Linklaters on being included in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2014. The standard of entries was incredibly high once again, and they should be hugely proud of their success. They are a great example of strong leadership; of how putting gender equality at the core of a business can create real, sustainable change for women, organisations and society as a whole. I hope other employers will be inspired by their work and use it to accelerate progress for women in their workforce.”
