Linklaters advises Osram on spin-off of lighting business
Munich, 5 August 2015. Linklaters advises Osram Licht AG on the legal spin-off of its lighting business into an independent legal structure. The new segment Lamps is to include the traditional product business with lamps for the general lighting as well as direct substitutes for traditional lamps based on LED technology including the sales channels Retail and Trade. The independent legal structure is to provide the basis for a further development of the business while also considering partnerships. Linklaters advises on this process as well.
Osram Licht AG is one of the world’s leading light manufacturers. The company’s portfolio covers the entire value chain from components to luminaires and light management systems to lighting solutions. Osram has approximately 34,000 employees worldwide and generated a revenue of more than 5.1 billion euros in the fiscal year of 2014. The company has been listed on the stock exchanges in Frankfurt and Munich since July 2013.
