Linklaters bolsters China offering with two senior partner hires

  • Simon Meng, Corporate partner and Andrew Ruff, Projects partner joins Linklaters

Linklaters announces the appointment of Meng Sheng (Simon Meng) and Andrew Ruff to the China Corporate and Project practices, further strengthening the quality, capability and experience of its market leading team in China and the international advice that it provides.

Simon Meng is a senior M&A lawyer with over 25 years’ experience, including 18 years as a partner, with expertise in cross-border M&A, project development and project finance work at a number of global leading law firms. He is dual qualified in New York and Paris and has a wealth of experience working across a wide range of industries for international and Chinese clients. Simon is fluent in Mandarin, English and French.

Simon is the fourth partner to join Linklaters Chinese Corporate practice in the last 18 months.

Andrew Ruff is a senior projects lawyer with over 16 years of experience in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, having worked on numerous energy infrastructure investments and project finance deals. He was previously a partner at a major US firm, is fluent in Mandarin and ranked band 1 in China for Projects & Infrastructure.

Andrew Ruff joins a team of four partners in the China Projects team which focuses on high value outbound transactions in energy and infrastructure investments that has an emphasis on project and other structured financings from Chinese financial institutions.
