Linklaters platinum sponsor of the APLMA Leveraged & Acquisition Finance Conference 2018

Linklaters were delighted to be the platinum sponsor of the annual APLMA Leveraged & Acquisition Finance Conference in Hong Kong on 28th August 2018. The event attracted a record number of attendees with approximately 200 leveraged finance market participants including representatives from funds, investment banks and law firms present.  The event showcased the expertise of partners from Linklaters and Widyawan & Partners (W&P) as well as our best friend firm, Talwar Thakore & Associates (TT&A).

Partner, Davide Mencacci joined a panel of experts from Asia based financiers to discuss the changes in deal structures over time and how LBO structures in Asia currently compare to equivalent structures available in Europe and the US.  The country spotlight session featured Linklaters' Frank Cui, W&P's Adrian Pranata and TT&A's Rituparno Bhattacharya who shared their insight on the nuances in LBO deal structures in China, Indonesia and India respectively.

Closing out the event, Partner, James Warboys considered factors in effecting a leveraged finance restructuring in the current market, reflecting that:

“As investors have chased yield, demand for leveraged paper has increased, deals have been done at record multiples and documentary covenants have loosened - what impact does this have on the options available to lenders and sponsors in future leveraged finance restructurings?”
