Linklaters to open office in Hamburg

On 1 May, Linklaters will open a new office in Hamburg. This office will be the firm’s fifth in Germany (the others are in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.)

Partner and tax expert Prof Dr Jens Blumenberg, who was previously based in Frankfurt, and M&A and Corporate partner Wolfgang Sturm, previously in Düsseldorf, are to work from the new Hamburg office. In addition, Frankfurt partners Barbara Lauer (Capital Markets) and Mario Pofahl (M&A Corporate) will support the Hamburg office on a regular basis. Together with a team of six associates, they will start working in Hamburg in an interim office at Görttwiete 16-20 in May. At the turn of the year 2018/19, the team will relocate into the permanent domicile.

Andreas Steck, Linklaters’ German senior partner, says:

“The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is a significant business location, being home to numerous long-standing and internationally operating businesses. For many years, we have been working with an increasing number of Hamburg based clients across various industries. We now intend to further expand our client relationships on site. We are thus delighted that the new Linklaters office in Hamburg will give us the opportunity to be present for our clients in Northern Germany”

The new Linklaters office is located at Görttwiete 16-20 in 20459 Hamburg and will be available from 2 May.
