Education and qualifications


Bertrand's international practice focuses on equity and equity-linked capital markets transactions and he has worked on numerous IPOs and other public offerings by French issuers. He has advised on most of the major capital markets transactions handled in Paris in recent years. He has also handled several high-yield and yankee bonds and sovereign bonds transactions by Francophone issuers.

Bertrand brings his long experience in disclosure to prospectus drafting, but also to Transparency/Market Abuse issues arising after the IPO. He regularly advises listed companies, in particular biotechnology companies on these issues, as well as corporate law and corporate governance ones.

Work highlights

Bertrand has led on many major capital markets deals. Among them, he advised:

  • the underwriters on the IPO of Neoen on Euronext Paris
  • JP Morgan on the two issuances by Shandong Ruyi (via European TopSoho) of bonds exchangeable into shares of SMCP (Sandro, Maje et Claudie Pierlot)
  • the underwriters on the Tunisian Central Bank’s most recent bond issuance
  • Innate Pharma on the capital increase subscribed by AstraZeneca/MedImmune as part of their oncology development collaboration.



Education and qualifications

Bertrand studied political science at the Paris Institute of Political Studies and law at the Paris II-Panthéon-Assas University and at the New York University School of Law.


He speaks English and French.
