Overview

Diego specialises in acquisition and leveraged finance, syndicated lending, restructuring and structured finance. He has significant experience advising those on all sides of transactions, including arrangers, sponsors (including private equity sponsors), financing providers and borrowers.

Diego is based in the firm’s Milan office but has also spent 6 months on secondment to the firm’s London office and 10 months on secondment to the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Work highlights
  • the initial purchasers and the lenders in the €765m senior secured floating rate notes and the €100m super senior revolving credit facility (RCF) for the acquisition by CVC of Università Telematica Pegaso
  • the lenders in the financing for the acquisition of Prima Industrie by Alpha PE and Peninsula by means of a mandatory tender offer
  • Almaviva on its issuance of €350m senior secured notes and its entry into a new €70m super senior revolving credit facility
  • Pemberton on the subscription of the €265m senior secured floating notes issued by ReLife
  • HPS Partners and Arcmont on the €310m financing and the lenders on the €35m super senior RCF for the acquisition of Dainese by Carlyle
  • Telemos Capital on the financing for its acquisition of Vittoria

Professional experience

Diego is a regular participant in the firm’s CSR activities, including helping out on the community investment day at Banco Alimentare, an Italian organisation that promotes the recovery and redistribution of food surpluses to charities and the less well-off.

Education and qualifications

Diego studied law at the Università Bocconi (Bocconi University) in Milan.

He speaks Italian and English.
