Overview

Fredrik is the managing partner of the firm’s Stockholm office and has been the head of the Nordic M&A Corporate practice since 2007. He is widely regarded as a leading corporate transactional lawyer in public and private M&A and equity capital markets, including IPOs and other equity capital issuances. His clients include many of the  major Nordic companies, as well as number of large private equity houses. 

During his career, Fredrik has been seconded to London twice. Firstly, he spent time at the firm’s London office, and then at a multinational financial services firm, working in the Nordic investment banking division in 2000.

Work highlights

Fredrik has led on many of the most high-profile mergers and acquisitions and securities transactions in the Nordic region. These include advising:

  • EQT on its takeover of Stendörren Fastigheter AB
  • Starwood Capital on its takeover of Victoria Park
  • Com Hem Holding AB on the combination with the Swedish leading mobile services, broadband and telephony services provider Tele2 AB (publ) 
  • Cevian Capital Partners Limited and Cevian Capital II Co-Investment Fund L.P. on the sale of their stake in AB Volvo to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group
  • ZF, the German car parts supplier, on its takeover offer in a competitive process for Haldex, the Swedish brake systems supplier
  • PAI Partners on its acquisition of Atos Medical
  • the global coordinators on Resurs Bank’s IPO and listing on Nasdaq Stockholm
  • Alimak Group, the manufacturer of lifts, hoists and work platforms, on its IPO and listing on Nasdaq Stockholm
  • Alliance Group on the SEK 8bn acquisition by way of amalgamation with Alliance Oil, a Nasdaq Stockholm-listed oil and gas company with operations in Russia and Kazakhstan
  • XXL, a Norwegian sporting goods retailer, on its IPO and listing on the Oslo stock exchange

Professional experience

Fredrik is a member of the expert panel advising on the Swedish Takeover Rules for the country’s two exchanges, Nasdaq Stockholm and Nordic Growth Market (NGM).

Fredrik is a frequent speaker at conferences and at client seminars on the subject of public mergers and acquisitions.

Education and qualifications

Fredrik studied law at Lund University and holds a Master of European Law from Edinburgh University.

Fredrik speaks Swedish and English.
