James Harbach is a partner in the firm’s Structured Finance Group, specialising in securitisation, structured finance, project and utility bonds and private or state structured guaranteed debt offerings.
James acts for international investment banks and financial institutions as well as corporates in arranging their structured asset and cashflow financings, including real estate financing and restructurings in the bank and bond markets, and has acted on many of the largest liquidity funding structures to support UK financial institutions during the recent credit crisis. His experience covers corporate structured secured and unsecured financings (including whole business securitisations and sale and leaseback financings), as well as residential and commercial mortgage securitisations (RMBS and CMBS) and all aspects of the refinancing and restructuring of such transactions during the credit crisis. He has acted for either the sellers or bidders/buyers on most of the major CRE NPL portfolio sale transactions in the European market in the last five years, including on the acquisitions, restructurings, financings and work outs. Recent transactions in FY2015 include Project Rathlin, Project Aran, Project Eagle and Project Chestnut/Henrico.
