Overview

Joachim is specialised in banking supervisory law and financial services regulation. He advises financial institutions with the implementation of regulatory requirements under German and European regulatory law, especially in relation to the trading business, the capital structure as well as business organisation and risk management. 

Further, he supports financial institutions with their M&A transactions, restructuring and investigations of supervisory authorities.

Work highlights

Joachim's experience includes:

  • Several international investment banks on their strategic considerations in light of Brexit in particular on licensing/European Passport issues, corporate governance and risk management as well as compliance and AML matters.
  • NORD/LB on their restructuring and recapitalisation
  • IG Markets on setting up a trading platform and on the restructuring of IG’s European business activities

Professional experience

Joachim joined Linklaters in 2017 and was appointed Managing Associate in 2020. Prior to joining Linklaters, he worked for another international law firm in Frankfurt.

Education and qualifications

Joachim studied law with additional training in economics at the University of Bayreuth. 

He speaks German and English.
