Kate is a dispute resolution counsel with experience handling complex commercial disputes, government investigations, class action defense, and international arbitration. She regularly advises global clients on FCPA, OFAC and other compliance matters. 

Work highlights

Kate's recent matters include:

  • Representing an individual defendant in a federal criminal jury trial of three individuals charged with 23-counts including bank and wire fraud
  • Defending a European airline in various civil antitrust lawsuits
  • Successfully defending a Norwegian power company in an emergency bondholder litigation in the Southern District of New York
  • Representing ten low-income restaurant workers in a FLSA trial in which the clients prevailed on nearly all claims
  • Representing a global construction company in an investigation by state and federal regulators
  • Representing a foreign trustee in an insurance insolvency matter in New York state court
  • Representing a global manufacturing company in a commercial dispute before the London Court of International Arbitration

Professional experience 

Kate has undertaken pro-bono work on behalf of the SDNY Criminal Justice Act Panel, Human Rights First, and Lawyers Without Borders.

Education 

Kate studied philosophy and economics at the University of Virginia and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
