Overview

Laura is a Managing Associate in our Belgian Corporate and Finance group. She advises national and international clients on a large variety of corporate and business law related matters. She has extensive experience in M&A, joint ventures, carve-outs, private equity and corporate restructurings, with particular expertise in fintech related matters. Her wider areas of expertise include banking and finance law and corporate and commercial litigation.

Work highlights

Laura has advised on a wide range of major corporate transactions. These include advising:

  • a consortium of banks on the merger between Bancontact and Payconiq Belgium
  • as sole counsel on the set-up of ING’s and KBC’s payment platform, Payconiq, both at a national and international level and including the subsequent participation of other banks (e.g. Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, AXA Bank, Rabobank, de Volksbank) in the joint venture
  • Gen II (Cobepa) on its acquisition of Quilvest Services Luxembourg
  • AirTies, a Turkish group controlled by Invus LLP, on the acquisition of the Wi-Fi Doctor business from Technicolor
  • MIROVA (Natixis group) in connection with the acquisition and financing alongside MEAG of a c. 50% stake in Indigo group, the world leading car parking & individual mobility group from ARDIAN Infrastructure.
  • SCR-Sibelco, an industrial specialty minerals group, on the divestment of its lime and limestone mining assets to Graymont and Grupo Calidra

Professional experience

Laura joined the Linklaters Belgian Corporate and Finance Group in 2014. She was promoted to Managing Associate in 2018.
In 2016, she was seconded to the Linklaters Corporate/M&A Group in Amsterdam and in 2019, she was seconded to Gimv.
 

She has also been involved in:

  • Gimv and Top Brands in connection with their acquisition of a majority stake in Ellis Gourmet Burger

Education and qualifications

Laura holds a Master of Laws from the University of Antwerp and an LL.M in Corporate Law from the New York University School of Law.
