Overview

Monica is an associate specialized in cross-border financings, bilateral and syndicated, including corporate finance, real estate financing and restructuring. Her practice also specializes in international public offerings of securities, both in the debt and equity markets, as well as advising issuers and institutional investors on regulatory compliance issues in the securities market.

Prior to her incorporation to Linklaters in 2020, she worked as an associate in the capital markets and banking and finance team of Galicia Abogados in Mexico City.

Monica holds an LLM from Columbia University in the City of New York and a Juris Doctor from Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) in Mexico City.

  • Banco de Chile: advising BofA Securities, Inc., Citigroup Global Markets Inc., a global investment bank and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC on Banco de Chile’s Rule 144A and Regulation S offering of US$500m 2.990% Fixed Rate Notes due 2031 under its Medium-Term Notes Program.
  • Hokchi Energy S.A. de C.V.: advising the company agent on an up to US$69m term loan facility granted by US-EXIM.
  • Pan American Energy: advising Citigroup Global Markets Inc., HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., Itau BBA USA Securities, Inc., J.P. Morgan Securities LLC. and Santander Investments Securities Inc, as Initial Purchasers on Pan American Energy, S.L., Argentine Branch’s offering of US$300m 9.125% Senior Notes due 2027, as well as an abbreviated cash tender offer for any and all of its outstanding 7.875% Senior Notes due 2021.
