Overview
Tamika is a Counsel in Linklaters’ U.S. regulatory and derivatives practice areas. She represents both sell-side and buy-side institutions on transactional and regulatory matters related to derivatives and securities financing transactions.
In particular, Tamika structures, negotiates, and documents a range of transactions involving various asset classes, including interest rate, foreign exchange, equity, credit, and commodity underliers. These products include total return swaps, deal contingent swaps, loan-linked hedges, and structured repurchase agreements.
She also advises domestic and foreign banks, broker-dealers, swap dealers, futures commission merchants, corporations, and trade associations on the interpretation and implementation of a range of legislative and regulatory requirements, including Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act and the safe-harbour provisions of the Bankruptcy Code.
Tamika is a member of the firm’s Making Links Fellowship Committee and Race Action Plan Steering Group.
Work highlights
Tamika’s work experience includes representing:
- a foreign bank on the implementation of the stay rules for qualified financial contracts
- a foreign bank on the implementation of margin regulation compliant documentation for uncleared derivatives
- a trade association on the implementation of a CCP Risk Review tool, a leading comparative analysis of the rules, procedures, and other documents of CCPs around the world (the tool was shortlisted for the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards Europe 2015)
- a clearing member syndicate on the redrafting of the rules, procedures, and other documents of CCPs to implement customer clearing and end-of-waterfall and recovery and resolution provisions
- a dealer group on the restructuring of the $32 billion Canadian asset-backed commercial paper market, which was one of the largest restructuring of synthetic structured credit products

Prior to joining Linklaters, Tamika was an Executive Director at Natixis and an Associate at Milbank LLP and Allen & Overy LLP.

Education and qualifications
Tamika obtained her undergraduate degree in English, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Cornell University School of Law and a French Master in Law from Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne. Tamika also obtained an Executive Master of Science in Finance, with distinction, from H.E.C. Paris.
