Overview

Wojciech is a Polish qualified lawyer (radca prawny) specializing in financial services regulation, ESG and sustainable finance or M&A transactions on the financial market. Throughout his experience, Wojciech has also been involved in advising on number of banking and finance transactions such as structured finance or project finance transactions as well as DCM transactions.

Work highlights

Wojciech has advised in a number of transactions, including:

  • Nexi, the leading PayTech company in Italy, listed on MTA of Borsa Italiana: advising on Polish law aspects of all-share merger with Nets, the Nordic payment services provider, a transaction valued at €7.8bn.
  • Polski Fundusz Rozwoju S.A.: advising with respect to the implementation of the “Financial Shield”, the government financial support programme aimed at reducing the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Carlyle Global Infrastructure Opportunity Fund: advising on its investment into London Southend Airport (LSA) structured as a £125 million senior loan facility convertible into approximately 30% of the LSA’s share capital.
  • Banca Transilvania: advising on the acquisition from the Polish Getin Holding group of Romanian financial sector entities: Idea Bank, Idea Leasing, Idea Insurance Broker and Idea Investment.
  • Triton Partners, a leading European private equity investment firm: advising on the sale of its portfolio company Logstor to Kingspan Global.
  • HSBC Bank, BNP Paribas, Caixabank, Citibank, Citigroup Global Markets Limited, PKO Bank Polski and Wells Fargo Securities: advising on the issuance of €600m Senior Notes due 2027 and US$ 400m Senior Notes due 2025 issued by Canpack S.A. and Eastern PA Land Investment Holding LLC.

Education and qualifications

Wojciech holds a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) from the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Science and a master’s degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Bialystok. 

He has broadened his legal education at the Faculty of Law of the Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg (Erasmus programme) as well as at the Michigan State University College of Law (Summer School of American Law).
