Xavier has acted on some of the most complex and high value real estate transactions in a number of jurisdictions. He advises on real estate transactions within Asia, on Asian real estate investments and acquisitions in Europe, and on real estate transactions in Moscow, where he was based for a number of years.

Xavier has specialist knowledge of every aspect of international and local real estate transactions, including advising on acquisitions and disposals of commercial, industrial and retail property, secured finance and leasing transactions. Xavier has particular expertise in real estate M&A, joint ventures and real estate financing..

Xavier is head of Real Estate in the firm’s Hong Kong office. 

Work Highlights

Xavier has led on many major real estate transactions. These include advising:

  • One of the participating financing parties on the US$4.2bn acquisition financing of The Center in Hong Kong, the world’s most expensive commercial building (valued at US$5.15 bn) and the largest acquisition financing for a single block commercial building
  • AIG/Lincoln on the development in  joint venture and subsequent sales of White Square and White Gardens class “A” office centres in Moscow
  • Swisscom on a €1.7bn sale and leaseback transaction in Switzerland
  • Immofinanz on the €1bn disposal of its portfolio of  shopping centres in Russia

Education

Xavier studied law at the University of Leicester.

He speaks English, French and Russian.
