Energy audits directive and ESOS Phase 2: compliance for multi-national corporates

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) regulation is the UK’s response to Article 8 of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EED). The EED is a European-wide Directive which requires all large EU organisations (including those with annual turnover exceeding €50m and annual balance sheet total exceeding €43m) to undertake a number of steps, including the performance of energy audits, once every four years on 100% of the energy the organisation consumes. The qualification date for Phase 2 is 31st December 2018, with all auditing and compliance activity needs to have taken place between 6 December 2015 and 5 December 2019.

Hundreds of corporates have been targeted by the Environment Agency as part of a concerted enforcement effort since the middle of 2016 in respect of its first phase. So, what exactly is required to ensure compliance with the EED in the UK? This webinar will provide the answers and will also touch on the BEIS consultation paper on the simplification of energy reporting in the UK.
